San Diego's hardest working indie-rock trio is back.

THE STORY

An American indie rock band from San Diego, California

After a 15 year hiatus, San Diego indie rock band
Dewey Defeats Truman is back.

In the late 1990's, from the ashes of the bands Red Dye No. 5 and Luper, Dewey Defeats Truman was born. Red Dye No.5's James Reader (bass, vocals) and Scott Frazier (drums) met Mark MacBride (guitar, vocals) at seminal San Diego rock club The Casbah, - as fans of each other's bands - and began to write songs.

In short order, the trio recorded and began touring - playing opening slots for Jesus Lizard, Archers of Loaf and Kelley Deal, and appearing at influential festivals such as NXNW in Portland, SXSW in Austin, and CMJ Music Festival in New York City.

Following their 2001 debut, coyly titled "B-Sides, Rarities and Out-Takes", on Silver Girl Records, the band released the "Road to Nowhere Maps EP" (in 2002) on the label Has Anyone Ever Told You.

The band continued to play shows from coast to coast until, in late 2003, the band decided to take a break.

Break time is over.
